Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the most popular alcoholic beverages in your category?

Whiskey, vodka, rum and gin are the most popular. Then comes tequila and some liqueurs.

02 Which non-alcoholic drinks do you offer in the e-shop?

Tanqueray 0.0 and JNPR N°2 gins can easily fit into evening (or other) situations, when alcohol shouldn’t take place. Also non-alcoholic are the vermouth VRMH N°1 and the aperitif BTTR N°1, suitable for every moment of the day and night.

03 What types of drinks are suitable for cocktails?

All. The universe of cocktails is constantly expanding and no drink is left out of the game. Of course, the most popular are still vodka, whiskey, tequila, rum, gin and liqueur.

04 What drinks are recommended for special occasions and celebrations?

A business deal is sealed with a good whisky, such as Laphroaig or Bowmore. A college party calls for tequila shots, so El Jimador or Olmeca couldn't be missing. After a birthday dinner, enjoying a high-quality brandy, like Metaxa 7, is the right thing to do. On afternoon occasions, an aperitif or a vermouth, such as Luxardo and Otto's, respectively, make the difference. Of course, gin is the drink for all cases, so a Martin Miller's or a Roku will do any time.

05 . What are the main characteristics that differentiate alcoholic beverages?

First of all, raw material is really important. For example, drinks made of fruit are noticeably different from drinks made of grains. Then, there is the production method. Distillation produces a different effect than maceration or infusion, in terms of aroma and flavor. Finally, aging must be also considered. If it is applied, the drink acquires a more "round" and distinct character.

06 Any suggestions for drinks to go with specific foods?

With the exception of some Greek spirits, drinks normally stand by themselves. However, there are plenty of cocktails that go well with many foods: from Asian and Mexican dishes, to pizza and street food.

07 Which alcoholic drink do you recommend as a special gift?

Practically, in every type of drink there are cases, which could make a special gift. As an example we could mention a premium vodka, such as Beluga. Of similar caliber is a great gin, such as Etsu and The Botanist. Of course, the most sophisticated versions of Metaxa always make special gifts. The same goes for a superior rum or whiskey, such as Don Papa and Bunnahabhain, respectively.

08 . What is the difference between alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages, in terms of taste and quality?

The quality of a non-alcoholic drink is second to none, compared to that of an alcoholic drink. The difference lies in the taste, as non-alcoholic drinks are usually lighter in body than alcoholic drinks. They also tend to be slightly sweeter.
