In 1795, the first tequila production license was granted to the Cuervo distillery. In the middle of the next century, exports also began. The cultivation of blue agave had already been radically expanded in the Jalisco region of Mexico and the experience of producing its excellent distillate had been accumulated. The tradition continues to this day. Rightfully so, the name José Cuervo is inextricably linked to tequila.
