Tasting Characteristics
Full body, rich aromas in the nose and mouth. An expressive bouquet emerges, starring caramel, vanilla and dried fruits, as well as leather hints on the substrate.
The process
What makes Michter's US*1 Bourbon Whiskey so special:
• Fire charred, new American white oak barrels
• Barrels are dried with air, naturally (18 - 36 months)
• Barrels are toasted, before being charred, to slightly caramelize wood sugars
• Filling of the barrels at lower ABV (51.5% vol, instead of the 62.5% industry standard)
• Larger "angel's share", because of the heat
• Selected chill filter protocol for each product
• High final ABV, at 45.7%
Served
Enjoy on the rocks, plain or with drops of mineral water.
