Southern Comfort Liqueur 700ml

In 1870, a young man, MW Heron, moves to New Orleans, full of dreams for a new life. He works as a bartender, serving whiskey customers. But he finds the flavors of whiskey of that time harsh. For this reason he decides to experiment with different flavors and 4 years later, in 1874, he makes a new drink, with a milder and sweeter taste. He calls it Cuffs and Buttons and it soon became a popular drink throughout New Orleans. A year later, after winning his first prize in an international competition, he renamed it Southern Comfort, a name he believed reflected the authenticity of the drink.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has sweet and fruity aromas, mostly of syrup and peach. In the mouth it is sweet, creamy, with hints of spices, vanilla and honey. Pretty greasy, with an aftertaste of vanilla and caramel.

The process

Southern Comfort is made from 100-percent grain-neutral spirit base, fruit, spices and at times a little bourbon.

Served

Enjoyed with 7UP or Coca-Cola and a slice of lime. Serves as basis for delicious cocktails.
