West Indies Rum Distillery Ltd.

West Indies Rum Distillery Limited was founded in 1893 by the Stades brothers, its primary purpose being to export rum to their native Germany. The Stades brothers were pioneers in the scientific production of rum. In 1903, the distillery was sold to local Barbadian interests and ownership remained in Barbadian hands with the local group, Goddard Enterprises Ltd, currently owning 88% of the shares.
