Paulaner Brewery

Paulaner is a German brewery, founded in 1634 in Munich. Paulaner ranks sixth among the best-selling beers in Germany. The brewery was founded by the Paulaner Order from which it takes its name. Monks at the Order's Neudeck ob der Au monastery in Munich brewed a strong beer, Paulaner Salvator. What they did not drink themselves they gave to the poor or sold in the monastery pub.
