Tasting Characteristics
Drama's version of the fine Portuguese variety, the great red Touriga Nacional is the main variety of the mythical Port of Portugal, while it is now more and more often found in dry vinifications. Touriga Nacional of the Art of Wine Estate is an impressive wine produced in exceptional years and minimal bottles. Concentration, intensity, long flavor and great aging potential are just some of the elements that make up its authentic charm. Dark ruby color with a dense nose with aromas of black cherries, berries, plums, black pepper, leather, smoke, oak and cedar. The high acidity with the intense, full, ripe tannins and the mouth full of intensity and density promise powerful taste sensations.

Vineyard
The vineyards of the Techni Oinou estate in the Mikrochori of Drama overlook Mount Pangaeo, a mountain that in ancient times was associated with Dionysian worship and Orphic teachings.
Vinification - Aging
Pre-fermentation cold-extraction of a few days to transfer good phenols and structure from the grape to the must, before the "appearance" of the alcohol. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with regular recycling to extract color and tannins. After the malolactic conversion, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, 50% new for the final stage of the 12-month maturation.
Tasty Combinations
The flavor intensity and density of the wine determine the corresponding density of the dishes. Touriga Nacional will go great with beef shank with red wine glaze, Japanese-style steaks, a classic Filet Mignon but also with roasted lamb with garlic and rosemary. Grilled eggplants, grilled Portobello mushrooms and aged gravies will stand well next to the wine, with their density and rich taste.
