Don Julio Anejo Tequila 700ml

Don Julio is named after its founder, who pioneered the world's first luxury tequila, made of 100% blue agave. Don Julio Gonzalez embarked on his tequila production journey in 1942 and was one of the first to cultivate agave plants by hand to ensure their maturity.

Tasting Characteristics

The nose has aromas of fresh lime, grapefruit and mandarin, along with a strong caramel sense. In the mouth it is rich, with flavours of baked agave, honey and oak. Finish is soft and spicy, with hints of honey.

The process

Growing agave exclusively in the highlands of Jalisco in Mexico provides a sweeter style to tequila. The Don roasts the agave leaves for three days, before distilling their sweet juice. Don Julio tequila is distilled in distillers coated with copper, in small quantities, with the batch number in each bottle. Anejo, has been aged in small batches for 18 months in American white oak barrels.

Enjoy plain, with ice and added lime or in a delicious cocktail.
