Tasting Characteristics

Plymouth English Gin is different from London gin, because a greater amount of sweet herbs, like angelica root and orange peels, is used to distill it. It contains more alcohol than other gins, fact that intensifies the juniper, coriander and cardamon aromas. Its taste is extremely soft and creamy, with a slight sweetness. Its finish is elongated and refined.

The process

The first recipe ever published for the classic Dry Martini, in 1886, specifically named Plymouth. It is prepared in the oldest distillery of England, in the historic city of Barbican. The distillery has been operating since 1793 and the production process has changed little in the last 200 years. The single-distillation copper abyss has been producing gin since 1850, using crystal clear water from the area's Dartmoor National Park.
