Tasting Characteristics
This wine is richly structured and loaded with complex flavour reminiscent of dark fruits like blackberries and black cherries. On the palate it has a rich, round, opulent feel. The dark fruit character lingers along with subtle oak notes in the long supple finish.

Syrah - Μandilaria
Vineyard
The private vineyard extends over 37 acres. However, it is not uniform. The 6 acres are around the winery, some of which are arranged in terraces. The remaining acres are scattered in 30 different areas of Heraklion. At an altitude of 400 meters. eastern foothills of Psiloritis, next to the winery, the vineyard produces Mandilaria, Malvasia, Vidiano, Syrah and Chardonnay while at an altitude of 600 meters, the Assyrtiko variety is planted.
Vinification – Maturation
Separate vinification for each grape variety. Classic red vinification, fermentation is controlled in low temperature. During the extraction process, different pumps over are applied for the two grape varieties: the pumps over are more frequent for Syrah, while the astringency of Mandilaria grape allow less frequently. A 12 months vintage in American and French oak barrels is followed.
Harmony
It pairs well with grilled and roasted red meat with rich sauces, Cretan lamb called "antikristo" and very well aged, rich yellow cheese including Cretan cheese.
