Carpano's history begins in 1786 in Turin, when Antonio Benedetto Carpano invented the first vermouth by blending herbs and spices with muscatel. It quickly became a royal favorite and the company grew from a small local wine shop to an industrial-scale producer. Despite ownership changes and global expansion, Carpano preserved its traditional vermouth production. In 2001, Branca acquired Carpano, furthering its global presence, introducing new products, but maintaining the same high quality.
