Havana Club 7 Y.O. Rum 700ml

The Havana Club is the authentic rum of a nation. Its roots go back to Cuba in 1878, when Jos Arechabala set up his distillery on the north coast of the island. He created a Ron Viejo Superior which later evolved into a very special brand called the Havana Club. Today, the Havana Club offers a complete and wide range of high-quality rum, from white to dark matured varieties.

Tasting Characteristics

On the nose it has a rich bouquet with intense and intricate notes of cocoa, vanilla, sweet tobacco and rich tropical fruits.  A silky first impression leads to a complex palate of warm cocoa, vanilla, sugarcane, chestnut and caramelised tropical fruits flavours braced by firm, smooth oak and rich brown spice. Its finish is intense but round and soft.

The process

The minimum age of any rum in the blend is 7 years, but the oldest drop is decades old: Every time we make Havana 7, a proportion of the final blend is put back into barrel to age for many more years until it is ready to form the heart of future production.

Served

Υou can taste it plain, with ice, with a few drops of Essence of Cuba of your choice, or in popular cocktails such as Rum Old Fashioned or Canchanchara.
