In 1830 William Teacher was only 19 years old, when bought a grocer in Glasgow, and 6 years later opened a second shop, this time a 'dram shop', shortly before becoming a distiller and global supplier of whisky. From the beginning he supplied blends for his shops and for the trade and one of these blends will become the basis for the brand, Teacher's Highland Cream, which will make him internationally famous.
