Black Forest Distillers

Alexander Stein who grew up in the magical city of Madras and moved to Germany after the war where he decided (unsuccessfully) to become a watchmaker and eventually disappeared into the Black Forest to make jeans. It's not a fairy tale but rather, the origin of one of the greatest gins on the planet, Monkey 47. Stein sold the brand to Pernod Ricard in 2016, who went on to develop the gin and export to almost every gin-consuming country.
